Hello Everyone:
Sorry I have not updated in a while... but here goes! Everything is growing like crazy. the tomatoes are as tall as I am, and we probably have a hundred green ones that will ripen all at the same time.... The neigbors are going to be getting tomatoes, it seems!
I have been told to watch out for a pest that will attack the roots, and cause leaves to die on top of the plant. I guess it is active this year. I have not had any tomato worms yet. We had a couple plants get eaten alive in one night , about two years ago, so I guess I gotta keep my eyes out for them. (Actually, around these parts the tobbacco worms are the ones you have to watch out for. they look the same but the "spike" in its tail is red, not green) The beans are growing well, but I didnt plant enough plants, so I think they will be sparse when they do come in. Note to self: plant more beans next time , and dont try to sprout them inside! just sow them in the ground Next entry I must get some pictures of "Hannah's Garden" ! Her watermelons are growing great, and her bird house gourds are taking over. (Her garden was an after though on the other side of the house, but it really is doing well! She must have a green thumb!)
